Why The Harry Potter Films Are Just So Great

Hogwarts Painting

The first film was released over 16 years ago, and my gosh hasn’t it had an impact! So why is everyone so Harry Potter mad? And what are the real reasons we are more than willing to start watching this movie series again and again, over and over?

Similar to Harry in the first movie, all young children that have watched this movie hoped and prayed that on their 11th Birthday they would come to realise that yes they were in fact a witch or wizard and that the wizarding world did indeed exist.

Magical Creatures

Whether your favourite is Fluffy the three-headed dog or Aragog the imperial spider or Dobby the Elf, you cannot deny the huge lengths JK Rowling has gone to create these impressive and enchanting creatures. The film only further brings these characters to life, welcoming us inside the wizarding world.

Dobby From Harry Potter

Dobby The Elf

An institute immersed in legacy, traditions, secret corridors, moving staircases, dazzling magical balls and feasts fit for kings. One thing for sure, is that it made our primary and secondary schools feel the furthest from magical and impressive.

The Costumes

Another reason into how the movie became so adored, was the costume designer’s ability to truly represent in attention to detail the costumes and clothing that JK Rowling had described in her books. The simple touches like Harry’s cracked glasses and his “mother’s eyes” to overall designs of the robes and individual character were completed to absolute perfection.

Those Quotes

Stuck with us forever…A whole number of pieces of the movie are quotable and applicable to use during a Potter fans day to day life. Our favourites include the obvious – “But you know, happiness can be found even in the darkest of times, if one only remembers to turn on the light,” “We’ve all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That’s who we really are.” and of course “You’re a wizard, Harry.”
